What 𘥄 means
No fixed translation. Tangut component 325 helps index and analyze larger characters; its role may point to meaning or sound, depending on the whole.
Tangut writing began around 1036 under Li Yuanhao, ruler of Western Xia in what is now northwestern China. It helped express the state's identity and carried Buddhist canon (a collection of scriptures) and secular texts; communities used it into the early sixteenth century.
A Tangut component list printed from woodblocks was linked to a 2014 Beijing auction and 2017 examination. The 2017 examination does not date 𘥄 itself.
