Tangut Component 335

335/768

𘥎 is a Tangut component used to index and analyze Tangut characters, not a standalone word. The Tangut script appears in historical writing; this component belongs to modern dictionary and Unicode scholarship. Sent alone, it needs context: ask what character or display issue the sender means.

What 𘥎 means

It is an indexing component, not a standalone Tangut word.

The Tangut script was created around 1036 under Western Xia's first emperor to write the Tangut language. It appeared in official, private, and religious texts, remained in use after Western Xia fell in 1227, and became obsolete by the end of the Ming dynasty. This component belongs to later scholarship: analyzing Tangut character structure and filing characters in dictionaries.

Why does 𘥎 point to other Tangut characters?

It groups Tangut characters for dictionary lookup.

An index radical is a shared component used to file characters in a dictionary. In one modern Tangut index, 𘥎 is R038, linked to ideographs from U1740C through U17416. The filing link does not mean every character in that group shares a sound or meaning.

Tangut reference works do not use one universal component list. The Unicode repertoire draws on several modern reference systems, so a character's component label can depend on the dictionary behind the index.

What does it mean when someone sends 𘥎?

It is a technical reference; the sender's purpose depends on context.

If it arrives alone, ask what needs identifying or displaying; the character itself does not form a message. Beside other Tangut text, it can mark structure or dictionary lookup—the surrounding characters carry the word or sentence reading.

Scholarly and technical; in ordinary messages, the surrounding context must explain why the character was sent.

335 is an index identifier, not a spoken meaning.

1

Why does 𘥎 appear as a box?

The display is font-dependent: an app or font without Tangut Components support may show a box. A fallback box is a missing-glyph marker, not a different character; try a font that includes this component.
