What 𘧁 means
It is a Tangut lookup component, not a standalone word.
Tangut radical indexes group full characters by recurring components. In that system, 𘧁 is a structural label that helps scholars locate and discuss larger characters; it does not stand for a spoken word by itself.
Historical accounts place the script's creation at the Western Xia ruler Li Yuanhao's court in 1036–1037 and name the official Yeli Renrong as involved, though they differ on his exact role. The earliest transmitted Tangut document is an official dispatch from 1072. The script served state records and translations, including Buddhist and Chinese works, and helped mark Western Xia's state identity. Its use continued after the state fell in 1227; the latest known inscription dates to 1502.
Why does it look like a box?
Without a Tangut font, a fallback box may appear.
When neither a web font nor a system font covers Tangut, a browser or app can show an empty box or another replacement mark. A Tangut-capable font may fix the display in that app, but other programs use their own fonts.
Technical and archival: it belongs in Tangut character indexes, font checks, or notes on how a larger character is built.
On its own, it is a component label, not a translatable Tangut word.

1Why does 𘧁 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
