What 𘨃 means
It is a structural unit for studying larger Tangut characters. It helps scholars index and analyze them; by itself, it does not settle a full character's reading or meaning.
Tangut writing was promulgated under ruler Li Yuanhao around 1036 for state-building, Buddhist texts, and a distinct Tangut identity. A document dated 1070/1071 may be the earliest known dated Tangut writing; Buddhist monuments used the script as late as 1502.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𘨃 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
