What 𘩽 means
It is one piece used to describe and index Tangut characters. On its own, 𘩽 has no standalone word translation. In a larger character, a component may show structure or point to meaning or sound; its role depends on the whole character. Unicode uses Tangut components for dictionary indexing and in Ideographic Description Sequences, which spell out a character’s parts. Its appearance can vary by font; without Tangut font support, it may show as a box.
The Tangut script, also called the Xixia script, was created around 1036 as part of building the Tangut state and was used for Buddhist texts. Its writing principles drew on Chinese writing and neighboring Khitan state scripts. A manuscript from Khara-Khoto, dated to the 12th or early 13th century, shows Tangut writing in use. These dates concern the script, not the first appearance of 𘩽.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𘩽 show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the Tangut Components block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
