What 𘫧 means
It is a structural part of Tangut characters.
In an Ideographic Description Sequence (IDS), a written formula for a character’s structure, 𘫧 can mark one component. Modern Tangut dictionaries use components to help readers find full characters.
Western Xia introduced the Tangut (Xixia) script around 1036 to assert autonomy from Song China and the Khitans. Chinese writing conventions shaped it; accounts differ about Emperor Li Yuanhao’s and official Yeli Renrong’s roles. A Khara-Khoto manuscript, probably from the 12th or early 13th century, translates Chinese material into Tangut. The script was used for government and Buddhist publishing, continued under the Yuan and Ming, and became obsolete by the end of the Ming.
