What 𗀗 means
It is glossed as “to melt” in Tangut. The gloss names a word; the character’s shape is not a picture of melting.
Tangut writing was created to record the Tangut language for the Western Xia state around 1036. Its forms were modeled on Chinese writing, but it records a different language.
It served official and private records, Buddhist translations and sutras, inscriptions, and manuscripts. After Western Xia fell in 1227, Buddhist texts kept the script in use; known use reaches 1502.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𗀗 show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the Tangut block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.

𗀗\17017Why is 𗀗 a box on my screen?
fsymbols draws rare signs with its own fonts, so they show here even where your device has none. An app or website without such a font shows an empty box (□) or a question mark instead. Turn our fonts off to see each sign as your device draws it by itself: a box here means a box in your chats and documents too.
