What 𗀜 means

It marks what happens next.

Scholars reconstruct its Tangut pronunciation as *ŋwu². The Tangut script was modeled on Chinese writing methods, but the two scripts were not mutually readable.

In 1036, the Western Xia state ordered Tangut writing for diplomacy and translations of Chinese classics and Buddhist texts. The Sea of Characters, a Tangut rhyming dictionary from the mid-12th century, analyzed recurring shapes within characters.

Historical; suited to Tangut text rather than general reactions.

1

Why does 𗀜 show as a box on some devices?

Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
