What 𗀝 means
It means “chicken” in Tangut.
Created around 1036, Tangut was the state writing system of Western Xia, a kingdom in northwestern China, used for Buddhist texts and government and to give the kingdom a distinct written identity.
In the 12th century, the reference works Wénhǎi (“Sea of Writing”) and Tóngyīn (“Homophones”) record this character as “chicken.” Tangut writing resembles Chinese, but it is a separate script.
Historical and specialist; outside Tangut material, a reader may not recognize the word.
Without Tangut context, a recipient may not recognize “chicken.”

Questions people ask
1Why does 𗀝 show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the Tangut block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
