What 𗄋 means
It is a Tangut character used for transcription.
The 12th-century Tangut references Wénhǎi (“Sea of Writing”) and Tóngyīn (“Homophones”) record 𗄋 as a transcription of Middle Chinese 爾 and 兒, an older form of Chinese.
The script was created under Western Xia’s first emperor about 1036. It remained in use under the Yuan and Ming after Western Xia fell to the Mongols, becoming obsolete by the Ming’s end.
Historical and lexical, not conversational.
Do not substitute 爾 or 兒; these links are historical.

1Why does 𗄋 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
