What 𗅧 means

Tangut 17167, 𗅧, is glossed “tendon.”

Created in 1036 under Li Yuanhao for Western Xia state-building and Buddhist writing, the script drew inspiration from Chinese writing but remained distinct; its creation followed earlier script projects by the neighboring Khitan.

A Tangut manuscript leaf from Khara-Khoto probably dates to the 12th or early 13th century; that dates the manuscript, not 𗅧’s first use.
