What 𗉎 means
Its best-supported sense is mending or putting something back in order.
Li Fanwen’s index pairs it with the Chinese character 繕. The Sea of Characters, a Tangut dictionary arranged by rhyme, lists it as entry 65.252.
Created in 1036 for Western Xia, Tangut writing supported a Buddhist canon and distinguished the state’s writing from the Song dynasty’s. Inspired by Chinese writing but not derived from it, it followed the Khitan precedent for a distinct state script. It served law, government and literature through the Yuan and Ming periods, then became obsolete.
Is 𗉎 an emoji? No. As of 2026, it appears chiefly in Tangut scholarship and typography.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𗉎 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
