What 𗊵 means
In Tangut, 𗊵 means “strong.”
In 1036, Western Xia created Tangut writing for state-building, Buddhist scripture production, and a distinct identity from Song China. A Khara-Khoto manuscript probably dates to the 12th or early 13th century; Tangut texts include Chinese translations and Buddhist, military, and literary works.
Dictionary glosses give 𗊵 the sense “strong”; a Tangut proverb applies it to friendship. The Tangut script drew on Chinese writing and Khitan precedent, but developed as a distinct system.
