What 𗋓 means
In Tangut, its recorded gloss is “peace.”
The Tangut script was created around 1036 under Western Xia’s first emperor for official and cultural work. Tangut looks like Chinese writing, but the scripts are distinct; resemblance alone gives 𗋓 no Chinese reading.
It later appeared in official, private, and religious texts, including books and sutras, and remained in use under the Yuan and Ming dynasties. It became obsolete by the end of the Ming dynasty; the script’s role shifted from state writing to a subject of historical study. If 𗋓 appears as a box, the font lacks Tangut support; that is a display issue.
Historical and scholarly in tone.
If someone sends it alone, do not assume they expect “peace”; ask for Tangut context.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𗋓 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
