What 𗋞 means
Use a Tangut input method that supports the character. RIME is a configurable input framework; a documented Tangut scheme offers reconstructed-sound spelling, stroke input, or Four Corner codes, a method based on character shape. Install the scheme first.
Your device also needs a Tangut-capable font to display it. Unicode support alone does not guarantee that an installed font includes the character's design, so a blank box can mean the font is missing.
What does 𗋞 mean?
A Tangut word list glosses it as “to lubricate.” That means making a surface slippery. The 12th-century Tangut dictionary Wénhǎi (“Sea of Writing”) also records the glyph.
Tangut script was created around 1036 under the first emperor of Western Xia, a Tangut kingdom. It served government and cultural writing, including a major effort to translate Buddhist scriptures.
Tangut writing drew visual and structural ideas from Chinese characters and was also shaped by neighboring Khitan script traditions, while remaining a distinct system. It continued in Yuan and Ming texts and had fallen out of use by the end of the Ming dynasty.
