What 𗌀 means
It means “to apply putty.” Li Fanwen’s Tangut dictionary lists 𗌀 as entry 3061 and glosses it “to putty.” Putty is a soft paste for filling gaps or sealing surfaces.
The Tangut script was officially introduced in 1036 under Li Yuanhao, ruler of the Tangut-led Western Xia (Xixia) state. It served government writing and Buddhist texts, including books translated from Chinese, Tibetan, and other languages. It drew on Chinese writing models. If the glyph appears as a box, your font may lack Tangut coverage.
Historical and specialized: a written Tangut word, not a standard emoji reaction.
If it arrives alone, read it as the Tangut verb “to apply putty”; ask why that historical word was sent.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𗌀 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
