What 𗍛 means
It refers to a Tangut word for recording or marking.
The reconstructed Tangut reading is wjij in specialist notation. Li Fanwen’s Tangut–Chinese dictionary indexes it with Chinese 誌, a gloss for “record,” “mark,” or “inscription.” The gloss helps explain the word; it is not the Tangut spelling.
The Tangut script was created in 1036–1037 under Western Xia (Xixia) ruler Li Yuanhao for state-building and Buddhist scripture translation. It wrote the now-extinct Tangut language in forms inspired by Chinese writing, but remained a separate script. A manuscript leaf from Khara-Khoto likely dates to the 12th or early 13th century; the latest known Tangut inscription is dated 1502.
Historical and scholarly; sent alone, it can read as curiosity about Tangut writing.
Treat 誌 as a Chinese meaning clue, not as 𗍛’s spelling in Chinese.
