What 𗍟 means
It means “to guard” or “to defend” in Tangut. A Tangut homophones dictionary, a reference grouping words by sound, records it in the 12th century.
Established around 1036 under Western Xia’s first emperor, Tangut script wrote the state language. The script resembles Chinese writing but is separate; texts continued under the Yuan and Ming before it fell out of use.
𗍟 alone points to Tangut text or the historical script; the surrounding message supplies why it was sent.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𗍟 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
