What 𗏥 means
Enter its Unicode value, 173E5, in hexadecimal. Use a Unicode input tool in your system or app that accepts this character; exact keystrokes vary. The display font must also support Tangut.
A box or blank means the active font or its fallback may lack this glyph. The text can still contain 𗏥; a Tangut-capable font makes it visible.
What does 𗏥 mean?
A Tangut dictionary glosses it as a kind of tool for divination.
Tangut, also called Xixia, was created under the Western Xia state around 1036 to write the Tangut language. Official records used it, as did Buddhist scriptures translated from Chinese and Tibetan.
Is 𗏥 Chinese?
No. It is a Tangut character, from a distinct script and language.
Tangut uses compact, square signs influenced by Chinese writing, but it is a different historical script for a different language.
Tangut writing continued after Western Xia fell, through the Yuan and Ming periods, and had become obsolete by the end of the Ming. A surviving manuscript is thought to date from the 12th or early 13th century. The script was rediscovered in the late 19th century.
Historical and scholarly; without Tangut knowledge, its message in an ordinary chat is unclear.
Its Chinese-like square strokes do not make it a Chinese character; 𗏥 belongs to Tangut.
