What 𗏦 means
𗏦 is a Tangut character glossed as “saddle.”
Here, “saddle” means the fitted seat a rider sits on while riding a horse.
The Tangut script was created around 1036 for the official and cultural life of Western Xia (Xixia), a Tangut state. Its earliest transmitted document is dated 1072. The script also carried Buddhist and classical texts and continued in use after the state fell, including in an inscription dated 1502. Tangut developed alongside Khitan and Jurchen scripts in a region influenced by Chinese writing, but it is distinct from Chinese writing.
