What 𗐚 means
It is glossed as “to ferment.” A Tangut dictionary entry from 2008 records this meaning; the Unicode label identifies the character, not its translation.
Tangut was created under the first Western Xia emperor around 1036 CE for official and cultural needs. Its forms were visually influenced by Chinese writing, but it was a distinct script. It appeared in official, private, and religious texts, including translations from Chinese and Tibetan. Tangut remained in use under the Yuan and Ming dynasties and became obsolete by the end of the Ming.
Why does 𗐚 appear as a box?
The receiving font may lack a Tangut glyph. A box is a display failure; it does not mean a different character was sent.
If someone sends 𗐚 alone, do not infer a mood from it. Read it as a historical quotation or study reference, and ask for surrounding Tangut text if you need a translation.

fsymbols draws rare signs with its own fonts, so they show here even where your device has none. An app or website without such a font shows an empty box (□) or a question mark instead. Turn our fonts off to see each sign as your device draws it by itself: a box here means a box in your chats and documents too.
