What 𗑵 means
Its generated name is an identifier, not a translation. Unicode generated Tangut character names from a numbering pattern. A reconstruction transcribes a proposed Tangut reading as tsjɨ¹; that notation represents a sound, not the character's meaning.
The Western Xia state standardized Tangut in the 1030s. The script drew on Chinese writing and Khitan traditions, the latter belonging to another people of the region. It served government, law, literature, and Buddhist translation and printing. After Western Xia fell, religious inscriptions kept the script in use through 1502.

Questions people ask
2Is 𗑵 an emoji?
No. It is a text character in the Tangut script, not emoji artwork.
Why does 𗑵 appear as a box?
The font or text renderer lacks Tangut coverage and substitutes a box. A font that supports Tangut can display the character.
