What 𗒯 means
A dictionary index glosses it as “to hide.”
Li Fanwen’s 2008 English index to his Tangut dictionary links this glyph to entry L2008-4746, number 4746, under that headword. Treat it as a dictionary gloss, not a guaranteed full-sentence translation.
When did Tangut writing begin?
Under Li Yuanhao, in 1036.
Tangut was created as Western Xia’s official script for government and Buddhist scriptures. Its design drew on Chinese writing principles and the earlier Khitan script tradition, but it wrote Tangut, a separate language.
Texts also included Confucian translations, military works, and literature. Use continued under Yuan rule after Western Xia fell in 1227 and into the early Ming period.
Historical Tangut writing; the gloss needs dictionary context.
Without a Tangut-capable font, it may appear as an empty box.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𗒯 show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the Tangut block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
