What 𗒷 means
In Tangut, 𗒷 means “parents.”
The Tangut script was created in 1036 for the Western Xia (Xixia) state, for government and Buddhist translations. It drew on Chinese writing and that of the neighboring Khitan people, but Tangut is a separate language and script.
Khara-Khoto manuscripts date to the 12th or early 13th century; a 1502 Tangut inscription shows later survival. 1036 dates the script's creation, not 𗒷's first recorded appearance.
