What 𗓄 means
A Tangut dictionary glosses 𗓄 as “justice.” It represents a word, not a picture of the idea.
The Tangut writing system was developed under Western Xia’s first emperor around 1036 for state use and to mark a distinct identity alongside Song China. The earliest surviving Tangut document is an official message to a military inspector dated 1072.
Tangut writing drew on Chinese and Khitan scripts. It appears in legal texts and Buddhist translations and remained in use into Yuan and Ming times. These are links between scripts; 𗓄 itself is Tangut.
The “justice” gloss translates a word in a historical script; it does not make 𗓄 a familiar justice emblem.
A dictionary gloss is not the same as a familiar justice icon.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𗓄 show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the Tangut block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
