What 𗔖 means
The gloss names an act of killing.
Li Fanwen’s 2008 Tangut dictionary lists it as LFW 4711 and glosses it “to slaughter.”
Emperor Li Yuanhao ordered Tangut writing in 1036 to help distinguish his state from Song China. The Tangut script drew on the earlier Khitan example and Chinese writing principles, but remained distinct. Ruins at Khara-Khoto preserve Tangut manuscripts from the 12th or early 13th century.
Historical and specialist; explain it before using it in a message.
If someone sends it alone, ask for context before assuming they mean “to slaughter.”
