Tangut Ideograph 1751A

1307/6136

𗔚 is a Tangut character, part of the writing system for the language of Western Xia. Created around 1036 by imperial order as a state-building project, Tangut writing appears in government, private and Buddhist texts and survived the state’s fall until the end of the Ming dynasty. Its square, component-based shapes take cues from Chinese writing, but Tangut is a separate script.

What 𗔚 means

It is a Tangut character, not an emoji or a Chinese character. Unicode builds its label from the code point, so Tangut Ideograph 1751A identifies the character without translating it.

If 𗔚 appears as a blank box, the active font may not cover Tangut. Switch to a font that supports the script.

Questions people ask

1

Why does 𗔚 show as a box on some devices?

Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
