What 𗔻 means
It refers to being skilled or nimble.
“Dexterous” is the English dictionary gloss for the Tangut word represented by this character. A single character does not tell you what the sender intended; read the surrounding Tangut text or ask for context.
Where did the Tangut script come from?
It was created as a state writing system for Tangut.
The script was developed under Western Xia’s first emperor around 1036. Schools taught it, officials used it for records, and translators rendered Buddhist and Chinese works into Tangut.
After Western Xia fell, the script remained in use under the Yuan and Ming dynasties, becoming obsolete by the end of the Ming dynasty. Scholars deciphered it from surviving texts.
Historical and scholarly; its dictionary gloss gives a word meaning, while a fragment still needs context.

Questions people ask
3Why does 𗔻 show as a box?
The app’s font likely lacks Tangut coverage. The text can still contain 𗔻 while the font shows an empty box in place of a glyph it cannot draw.
Can I type it with a normal Chinese keyboard?
Not by default. 𗔻 is Tangut, so a Chinese keyboard layout alone does not provide its character entry. Use a Unicode-entry feature or a Tangut input method.
Is 𗔻 an emoji?
No. It is a text character from the historical Tangut script, used to write the Tangut language.
