Tangut character 𗕔

1365/6136

𗕔 is a Tangut character glossed as “platform” in a historical dictionary. Tangut writing served schooling, administration and Buddhist texts; the English gloss does not establish what a modern sender means. Its outline comes from the Tangut font.

What 𗕔 means

A Tangut dictionary glosses 𗕔 as “platform.”

A Unicode chart links it to Li Fanwen’s catalog entry L2008-0959. The 12th-century Sea of Characters, a dictionary organized by Tangut rhymes, lists it at 42.271.

Introduced around 1036, Tangut script served schooling and administration in the Western Xia state. It continued in Buddhist writing; Tangut Buddhist inscriptions are known from 1502. It is a separate script for the Tangut language, though its forms use Chinese-style conventions.

Historical Tangut text; “platform” is a dictionary gloss, not a general chat reading.

Do not infer a sender’s meaning from that English gloss.
