What 𗕞 means
It means “to ride” in Tangut.
Tangut was the language of the Tangut people, who ruled the Western Xia (Xixia) kingdom in northwest China. The script entered official use in 1036 under ruler Li Yuanhao, supporting government writing and marking a distinct state identity.
The script also carried Buddhist texts and translations of Chinese classics. A Buddhist pillar inscription from 1502 shows Tangut writing continued centuries after the Western Xia fell.
Is 𗕞 Chinese or Tangut?
It is Tangut, shaped after standard Chinese characters.
Tangut characters use the square, stroke-based style of standard Chinese characters, but this glyph represents the Tangut word “to ride.” If it appears as an empty box, your font lacks Tangut coverage; choose one with Tangut support, such as Babelstone Tangut Yinchuan.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𗕞 show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the Tangut block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
