What 𗕤 means
A Tangut dictionary glosses it as “to seek for happiness.”
Li Fanwen’s 2008 dictionary lists entry 1268; the mid-12th-century Sea of Characters, a Tangut rhyme book, places 𗕤 at 27.172.
The Western Xia court created the Tangut script around 1036 to write its language in government and Buddhist texts. Its design drew on Chinese writing; the court followed its Khitan neighbors, who had earlier created a script for their own language. After the Mongol conquest in 1227, it remained in use through the Yuan and Ming dynasties, becoming obsolete by the end of the Ming dynasty.
Why can 𗕤 look different in different fonts?
Its sources preserve two layouts. Historical dictionaries arrange one part differently, so fonts can show different outlines without changing the gloss.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𗕤 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
