What 𗖠 means
𗖠 is a Tangut character read in the context of a Tangut word.
Tangut was a language with its own writing system, used by the Western Xia state. Its script drew on Chinese writing but remained distinct; Chinese characters do not supply a reading for this graph. A Tangut–Chinese inscription on a stone monument at Liangzhou, dated 3 February 1094, records it in the word 𗖠𗫔. This confirms its historical use, but not a standalone modern gloss.
The Tangut script developed around 1036 for the Tangut state. It was used for Buddhist scriptures and translations of secular works, after earlier writing systems had been created for Khitan, another language.
How do I type 𗖠?
Use a Unicode input method that accepts code points and enter U175A0.
If the text appears as an empty box or fallback symbol, the installed font may lack Tangut glyphs. The character can be stored correctly even when the font cannot draw it.
Why does 𗖠 only have a number name?
The label identifies the encoded character; it does not translate its word.
Unicode names Tangut graphs by code point. Scholars also use catalogue identifiers to find individual graphs in reference works; L2008-1536 is one such identifier, not a Tangut word or an English gloss.
Historical and technical; without Tangut-language context, this graph is not a plain everyday message.
Don't infer a Chinese reading: Tangut is a distinct language and writing system.

Questions people ask
2Can I use 𗖠 like a Chinese character?
No. Tangut was a distinct writing system influenced by Chinese; this graph needs Tangut context rather than a guessed Chinese reading.
Why is 𗖠 blank on my screen?
It can be. A font without Tangut coverage may leave a blank box or fallback glyph even when the exact character is stored in the text.
