What 𗖡 means
The Chinese gloss 撚 gives the finger-action clue; tjạ¹ is the scholarly reconstruction of its reading.
Western Xia’s founder commissioned Tangut writing in 1036 for government, diplomacy, scholarship, and Buddhist translation. It remained in use after the state fell in 1227; Baoding Buddhist pillars from 1502 are among the latest dated Tangut records. Those dates concern the script, not this glyph’s first attestation.
Literal, physical vocabulary with a historical scholarly feel.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𗖡 show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the Tangut block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
