Tangut character for barking

What 𗘁 means

It is glossed “to bark” in Tangut.

The oldest lexical source tied to this character is the 12th-century Wénhǎi, a Tangut dictionary that groups words by rhyme. Created by imperial order in 1036, the Tangut script served the Western Xia state for official records and Buddhist translations. Manuscripts found at Khara-Khoto in 1909 later helped scholars recover its meanings.

A historical Tangut word with an archival or scholarly tone.

It names the act of barking; it does not spell the sound “woof.”

Why does 𗘁 show as a box on some devices?

Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
