What 𗙤 means
It is a Tangut transliteration character.
Li Fanwen’s Tangut–Chinese dictionary labels entry L1123 “a transliteration” and reconstructs its reading as pjĩ: p, a y-like glide, and a nasalized i. This scholarly reconstruction is not an everyday pronunciation guide.
The Tangut script, also called Xixia script, was created around 1036 for the Tangut language. It served Western Xia, a Tangut kingdom, in government, private, and Buddhist writing. After it fell out of everyday use, researchers turned to surviving texts; today, they study them. 𗙤 may resemble a Chinese character, but it belongs to a distinct script.
Historical and scholarly in register.
