What 𗛰 means
Li Fanwen’s 2008 Tangut–Chinese dictionary glosses 𗛰 as “three.” The character names the number in Tangut, the language the script was created to write.
The Tangut script was created around 1036 under Western Xia’s first emperor. After Mongols brought down the state, Tangut writing continued under the Yuan and Ming dynasties. A pair of Buddhist stone pillars bearing Tangut ritual-text inscriptions was erected in 1502.
