What 𗜤 means
𗜤 is glossed “a kind of tree.”
The Wén Hǎi, a Tangut dictionary dated 1124–31, records it at entry 54.143. Its reconstructed reading is written *kjiw¹.
Why does 𗜤 look like Chinese writing?
Its square form resembles Chinese writing; Tangut is a separate script.
Introduced in 1036, the script served official writing and Buddhist texts. Tangut writing continued in Yuan-era Buddhist and scholarly settings after Western Xia (Xixia) fell to the Mongols in 1227.
Historical and specialist; it marks a text in the Tangut tradition.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𗜤 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
