What 𗜯 means
Its recorded meaning is “grape.”
Li Fanwen’s Tangut–Chinese dictionary from 2008 lists “grape” for this character.
Tangut writing emerged around 1036 CE as the Western Xia state developed its own written tradition. It also appears in Yuan- and Ming-period texts. Tangut forms drew on Chinese and Khitan writing traditions; Khitan was another historical script, but 𗜯 itself is Tangut, not Chinese.
