What 𗝚 means
The proposed “tree” reading applies to the whole pair.
A linguistic analysis proposes 𗝚𘕰 as a Tangut word for “tree.” It relates 𗝚 to the independent Tangut character 𗝠, whose meanings include “tree,” “wood,” and “firewood”; 𘕰 also means “tree.” Because the compound reading is proposed, don't give 𗝚 alone that full gloss.
Created in 1036 under Tangut emperor Li Yuanhao, the script likely helped produce a Tangut Buddhist canon—a large collection of scriptures—and mark the state's identity apart from Song-dynasty China. Khara-khoto manuscripts preserve Buddhist works, translated Chinese classics, military writings, encyclopedias, and literature. One undated secular manuscript from the ruined city probably dates to the 12th or early 13th century.
Historical Tangut writing, not a casual-chat convention.
Don't label 𗝚 alone “tree”; the proposed gloss belongs to 𗝚𘕰.

1Why does 𗝚 show as a box?
A font gap may be the cause: your device's text font needs a Tangut glyph for this character. A blank box or replacement mark is a display problem; it does not change which character the text contains.

fsymbols draws rare signs with its own fonts, so they show here even where your device has none. An app or website without such a font shows an empty box (□) or a question mark instead. Turn our fonts off to see each sign as your device draws it by itself: a box here means a box in your chats and documents too.
