What 𗝜 means
Its dictionary gloss is a kind of grass.
A scholarly reconstruction gives its Tangut reading as djɨr². The text glyph displays in fonts with Tangut support.
Introduced around 1036, Tangut writing (the Xixia script) recorded Tangut, the Western Xia state's language, in government, education, and Chinese and Buddhist translations. Texts continued after the state fell in 1227; the script became obsolete by the mid-Ming dynasty in China. Historical books used vertical columns ordered top to bottom and right to left; modern scholarship prints horizontal lines left to right.
A historical Tangut character; its context is Tangut writing and dictionary study.

1Why does 𗝜 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
