What 𗝬 means
Tangut writing was influenced by Chinese forms, but it is a separate script. Western Xia's court created the Tangut script around 1036 for state records and to mark a distinct identity. The earliest surviving dated Tangut texts appear around 1070. The script also took cues from writing systems used by the neighboring Khitan people. After Western Xia fell, Tangut writing continued through the Yuan and Ming periods, then became obsolete by the end of the Ming dynasty. Surviving texts include Buddhist translations from Chinese and Tibetan.

Questions people ask
2Is 𗝬 a Chinese character?
No. It belongs to Tangut, a separate script influenced by Chinese writing; it is not a Chinese character.
Why does 𗝬 display as a box?
The font or app may lack Tangut support. A blank or replacement box is a display problem; it does not change the character or its dictionary gloss.
