Tangut script was created about 1036 CE for the Tangut language of the Western Xia kingdom. It was used in government records, tax lists, contracts, Buddhist texts and translations from Chinese, and remained in use for centuries after the kingdom fell in 1227.
Why does Tangut character 𗞰 look like Chinese writing?
Tangut and Chinese are separate scripts.
Tangut signs are compact and square, with recurring parts, much like Chinese characters. The resemblance does not make 𗞰 Chinese or tell you how it would be read in Chinese.

Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
