What 𗠊 means
A Tangut character glossed as “vagina.” Li Fanwen’s Tangut dictionary matches it to 膣, the Chinese word for vagina; the glyph itself belongs to Tangut writing.
Why was Tangut writing created?
For Western Xia government and religion. The script was created in 1036 for Western Xia state and religious life. It carried government records and Chinese and Tibetan Buddhist translations, drawing on Chinese and Khitan writing traditions. It continued after Western Xia fell in 1227; the latest known inscription dates to 1502.
Scholarly and anatomical.
Its anatomical gloss can sound crude as a joke.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𗠊 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
