What 𗠿 means
The Unicode label identifies the character; it does not translate it. 𗠿 belongs to the Tangut script. Its sense has to be read in a Tangut word or passage, or looked up in a specialist dictionary; the glyph's shape alone does not supply a translation.
Tangut was created for the Western Xia state around 1036 CE to write the Tangut language. Its characters belong to a writing tradition influenced by Chinese characters, and appear in official, private, and religious texts. Tangut continued under Yuan and Ming rule before becoming obsolete by the end of the Ming dynasty.
Why does 𗠿 show as a box?
The selected font may not include Tangut characters. The code point stays the same, but a font must contain a drawing for it. If 𗠿 appears as a square or blank placeholder, select a font that includes Tangut characters.
