What 𗡀 means
It means “to be greedy for money or food.”
How did Tangut writing outlast Western Xia?
It remained in use under Yuan and Ming rule. The Tangut script emerged around 1036 as the writing system of the Western Xia state (Xixia), made for the Tangut language. It served administration and Buddhist translation, and marked the state’s distinct identity.
Its design drew inspiration from Chinese writing and followed earlier state scripts used by the Khitan people, but the Tangut script was not derived from Chinese characters. Mongols conquered Western Xia in 1227; the latest known Tangut inscription is dated 1502.
Historical and specialist. Will 𗡀 look the same in every font? Not always: Tangut sources preserve variant forms.
Is 𗡀 Chinese? No: it belongs to Tangut writing, a separate script made for the Tangut language, though its design drew inspiration from Chinese writing.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𗡀 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
