What 𗡈 means
Its Unicode label is an inventory identifier, not a translation. A Tangut dictionary index lists the glyph as L4521 and #5449; those are catalog numbers, not its reading.
Tangut writing emerged around 1036 in Western Xia, a state in northwestern China. It served administration in the Tangut language and Buddhist translation, adapting Chinese writing principles while remaining a distinct script. Surviving texts include Buddhist scriptures, official and private records, inscriptions, manuscripts, and Chinese works translated into Tangut. Use continued after Western Xia fell, and the script became obsolete by the end of the Ming dynasty in China.

Questions people ask
2Is 𗡈 a Chinese character?
No. It belongs to the Tangut script, a distinct writing system used in Western Xia. Chinese writing influenced its design but did not make it Chinese.
Why does 𗡈 show as a box?
A font without Tangut coverage cannot display the character, so it shows a missing-glyph box. Switching to a Tangut-capable font can fix the display.
