What 𗡿 means

The English dictionary gloss is “drop.” That can mean an amount or an act of falling; the sentence around it clarifies which.

Created in 1036 for the Western Xia state, Tangut writing served government and diplomacy. A Khara-khoto manuscript probably dates to the 12th or early 13th century. After the state fell in 1227, Tangut printing continued under the Yuan.

Tangut drew on Chinese writing and the earlier official script of the Khitan. These are historical links between writing traditions; 𗡿 itself is Tangut.

Historical and specialist; this character belongs in Tangut context.

Chinese influence does not make 𗡿 a Chinese character.
