Tangut Ideograph 178B7

2232/6136

𗢷 is a Tangut (Xixia) character; its Unicode label identifies the glyph, not its word or pronunciation. The Tangut script was introduced around 1036 for government correspondence, and a state committee formed in 1038 to translate Buddhist scriptures into Tangut. Its characters resemble Chinese writing, but they belong to a separate script for another language.

Why does 𗢷 show as a box on some devices?

Not every system ships a font for the Tangut block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
