What 𗤗 means
Its label identifies the character, not the word it writes. The catalogue name is a numbered identifier, not a gloss; a documented Tangut passage provides the context needed to identify what 𗤗 writes.
Tangut outlived the Western Xia state
In 1036, Western Xia rulers introduced Tangut writing to serve their state and support Buddhist texts in the Tangut language. The earliest known surviving example is an official document from 1072.
The Western Xia state fell in 1227, but Tangut remained in use among religious communities. Tangut Buddhist dhāraṇī—short sacred formulas—appear on the Baoding pillars dated to 1502.
Tangut writing uses some principles also found in Chinese writing, while representing the Tangut language. A proposed connection with Khitan script remains debated; that does not establish that 𗤗 itself derives from a Khitan character.

Questions people ask
2Why does 𗤗 show as a box?
Font coverage. The fonts available to the app cannot draw this Tangut character, so the renderer substitutes a box; the text still contains 𗤗.
Is 𗤗 a Chinese character?
No. It belongs to Tangut writing, a script for the Tangut language. Tangut writing uses some principles also found in Chinese writing, but that does not make 𗤗 a Chinese character.
