What 𗪌 means
It names the Xiongnu in Tangut.
This character refers to a historical people known from Chinese records; in a Tangut sentence, it names that people rather than serving as a general word for nomads or warfare.
The earliest transmitted Tangut document is an official dispatch to a military inspector dated 1072.
Why was the Tangut script created?
It gave the Tangut state a script for records and translations.
The script was promulgated around 1036 and is associated with ruler Li Yuanhao and scholar Yeli Renrong. Chinese influence is clear; a proposed connection to the Khitan script remains debated. An inscription dated 1502 shows Tangut writing continued after the Western Xia state fell.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𗪌 show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the Tangut block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
